Overseas PhD Scholarships
The University of Malakand, Dir (Lower) offers overseas scholarships in Faculty Development Programme to talented candidates under HEC funded project "Provision of Academic and Allied Facilities at University of Malakand". The scholarships are offered for admission in PhD programmes preferably at top 300 ranked universities of the World as per QS ranking in the fields of Statistics, Botany, Information Technology, Physics, Zoology, Geology and Software Engineering,
Eligibility Criteria / Terms & Conditions
- Pakistani Nationals having 18 years of education in the relevant field.
- Candidates must be having a minimum CGPA 3.00 out of 4.00 in semester system or 1st division in annual system of examination in MS/MPhil with no 3rd division and not more than two second divisions in the entire academic career.
- Maximum age shall be 35 years and relaxable to 40 years only for regular employees of the public sector universities/DAIs and R&Ds Institutions on the closing date of the application.
- Candidates having already availed or availing any other scholarship for PhD studies shall not be eligible.
- In service candidates must apply through proper channel.
- Incomplete applications and those received after due date shall not be entertained.
- Valid registration with Pakistan Engineering Council is mandatory in case of Software Engineering.
Selection Process
- Eligible candidates shall have to pass subject test with minimum score of 60%, to be conducted by a Testing Agency.
- Only shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview. Preference shall be given to the candidates who have valid offer of admission in universities of technologically advanced countries having comparatively low tuition fee.
- In case of award of scholarship, the awardee shall be funded as per PC-I provision & the University Statutes.
- Candidates shall be selected through proper procedure under the statutes/rules of the University of Malakand and appointment as Assistant Professor on TTS/BPS as the case may be, will be conditional to successful completion of PhD and actualization of joining duty at the University.
- Seeking admission in Ph.D. and obtaining Visa shall be the responsibility of the Awardees under the guidance of the University of Malakand.
- Awardees shall be required to execute a bond to serve the University of Malakand for a period of five years (fresh awardees) or as per University Statutes (University of Malakand Employees) after successful completion of Ph.D. studies and joining duty at the University of Malakand.
- Attested copies of all educational documents, CNIC and two recent passport size photographs must be attached with the application form.
Application form can be downloaded from the University Website (www.uom.edu.pk) or may be obtained from the office of the Deputy Registrar (Meetings). Application form complete in all respects along with original receipt of Rs. 1000/- of NBP, University campus branch or Bank Draft of Rs. 1000/- drawn in favor of Director Finance, University of Malakand must reach the office of the Deputy Registrar (Meetings) on or before 27th September, 2016.
