The MEP Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in buildings, industrial facilities, and other structures. The technician ensures that these systems are functioning efficiently, safely, and in compliance with relevant regulations and codes.
Mechanical Systems:
Install and maintain HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, heating systems, ventilation units, and refrigeration.
Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting on HVAC equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components, such as pumps, boilers, and compressors.
Ensure compliance with energy efficiency standards and environmental regulations.
Electrical Systems:
Install and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, lighting, power distribution, and emergency systems.
Troubleshoot electrical faults, repair damaged wiring, and replace electrical components when necessary.
Perform inspections and tests to ensure electrical systems meet safety standards.
Ensure that all electrical installations comply with local electrical codes and regulations.
Plumbing Systems:
Install and maintain plumbing systems, including piping, water heaters, pumps, drainage systems, and sanitary systems.
Troubleshoot and repair leaks, clogs, and other plumbing-related issues.
Ensure the proper operation of water supply systems and drainage systems.
Perform maintenance tasks such as descaling, checking for pipe corrosion, and testing water pressure.
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
Carry out routine preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to reduce the risk of breakdowns.
Respond to emergency repair requests and perform corrective maintenance when equipment fails.
Conduct regular inspections to detect potential issues before they lead to failures.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance.
Provide detailed reports on equipment condition, repairs, and recommendations for system improvements.
Update maintenance logs and ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all health and safety regulations when performing tasks.
Ensure that MEP systems are operating in a safe and compliant manner.
Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions that may pose a risk to building occupants or staff.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers, contractors, and other maintenance staff to ensure smooth operation of all building systems.
Assist in the design, installation, and modification of MEP systems during construction or renovation projects.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of parts and materials.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical degree or certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or a related field (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical training).
Experience:
Min. 3 years as an MEP technician. Candidate should have experience in Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing
Previous experience working in a commercial, industrial, or residential building environment is preferred.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Proficiency with maintenance tools, diagnostic equipment, and software.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, plumbing license, electrical license) are preferred.
Knowledge of local and national building codes and regulations is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and tools.
Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders.
Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.
Working Hours: 8 Hours / Day (5 Days work per Week)
