Gavi (HUS) studys aim is to generate important data on the impact of typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV) in reducing the burden of typhoid and drug resistance among typhoid cases in Pakistan by establishing surveillance network for typhoid in collaboration with large laboratory networks and hospitals across Pakistan. The study will be conducted at private and public sector hospitals and laboratory networks of Sindh and Punjab.
This is a short-term contractual position based in Karachi, Lahore & Hyderabad.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
independently conducting interviews and jotting down detailed notes on interviews and observational visits
effectively managing field work processes to ensure efficiency
facilitating meetings among the research team and junior research staff
training new junior staff (Lady Health Workers - LHWs / Community Health Workers - CHWs) in research / interviewing skills and proper data collection processes
visiting different households in the communities to ensure successful completion of data collection in their areas including quality control
liaising with admin regarding logistics for field/hospital work
developing and conducting regular trainings of LHWs and CHWs
providing supervision and support to LHWs / CHWs liaising with their respected supervisors
raising wider community awareness on child health related issues based on project guidelines
ensuring field implementation of project related SOPs and guidelines as defined in the research project
preparing and presenting weekly project related activity reports.
Requirements:
You should have:
a Bachelors degree. Masters will be preferred
at least one to two years of relevant experience
the ability to showcase respect towards diverse cultural settings/differences
excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
good communication and interpersonal skills
resilience and ability to cope under pressure
