Job Description

The Aga Khan University Hospital offers comprehensive Nephrology, Urology and Renal Transplant services that meet international standards. The Kidney & Bladder Service Line continuously works to enhance the services by pursuing excellence in education, clinical research and medical technology. Our highly-qualified team consists of Nephrologists (kidney specialists), Urologists (specialists in bladder, prostate and male reproductive organs) and internationally trained Renal Transplant Surgeons.
The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Medical Officer, Kidney & Bladder Service Line.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
work closely with Nephrology and Urology residents, instructor and consultants
receive admitted patients from clinics and ER and perform diagnostic workup
manage patients in special care unit and wards
conduct ward rounds and carrying out consultants instructions and round orders regarding patient care
display effective and relevant documentation with quality record keeping of clinical notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries as indicated.
demonstrate effective communication skills to avoid mishaps, delays, and lapse in patient care.
ensure that patients are given correct post-operative medications / instructions with clear explanation of health care needs.
perform specific bedside procedure as per rights assigned by the institution
provide coverage at various inpatient locations
remain updated and follow the care related policies of the institution, along with best practice guidelines including infection control practices.
assist Service Line Management in clinical and quality projects
perform night call or flexible duties as assigned
round all inpatient areas and dialysis units.

Requirements:
You should have:
MBBS degree with a valid PMDC license
one year house job/internship
two years experience in Internal Medicine & Allied (ICU, SCU Nephrology, Dialysis) will be preferred
strong interpersonal and communication skills.
