Job Description

Chartered in 1983, Aga Khan University (AKU, www.aku.edu) is a private, autonomous and self-governing international university, with 13 teaching sites in 6 countries over three continents. An integral part of the Aga Khan Development Network (www.akdn.org), AKU provides higher education in multiple health science and social science disciplines, carries out research pertinent primarily to low- and middle-income countries and operates 7 hospitals (soon 8) and over 325 outreach clinics, all at international standards. The Medical College offers Master of Medicine (M Med) degrees in Anaesthesia, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gyneacology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Radiology, and Surgery.
Currently the University offers fellowship programmes in the following specialties: Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Neonatology and Paediatric Neurology.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Project Co-ordinator PTSDTNX102 Study the incumbent will be responsible for the following;
Enrolment of patients for studies, including coordination of intake of eligible subjects
Conducting informed consent
Maintenance of subjects records throughout time periods
Communication with study team related to patient enrollment and status
Maintenance of all study records, including patient approach, recruited and consented
Conducting structured interviews
Provide periodic progress report on status of data collection and problems challenges encountered.
Assessment of Adverse events.
Conduct blood draws and liaise with the lab for tests.
Patient follow-up
Project Duration
12 Months

Requirements:
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from an Institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Completed one (1) year internship.
Registration certificate by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Valid license from Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Research experience preferably in Clinical Trials.
One year post-internship clinical experience
Excellent communication skills both in writing and speaking English and Swahili
Must be willing to work with a multidisciplinary team
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Extremely reliable
Flexible and non-judgmental
