Job Description

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Female hostels, you will be overall in-charge of an Off-campus Female Hostel. You will ensure application of University policy and upkeep in the hostel. In the execution of your duties you will be assisted by a housekeeper, house boy and a security guard. In addition, you will be required to perform housemother duties on rotation in the on-campus hostel when students residing in the off campus hostels are on long leave.
Responsibilities include:
taking care of the off-campus female hostel and supervising its overall activities
taking care of the residents of the hostel and resolving their day-to-day issues
ensuring that the hostel environment is academically conducive and that overall hostel premises are kept clean
ensuring that no unauthorized person enters within the hostel premises, students do not leave hostel premises without adequate information and in and out timings are recorded in the register
ensuring that hostel facilities are not misused/ damaged
keeping record of daily activities/events and any incidents in the hostel
keeping record of all complaints made by students and following up with the off-campus coordinator for corrective measures
maintaining an updated record of hostel occupancy.

Requirements:
You should have:
at least an Intermediate, Graduate will be preferred
5-7 years working experience in an administrative position, having supervisory role in the hospitality industry or hostels, an overall academic environment experience will be considered an advantage
understanding of and ability to communicate with young people with diverse backgrounds
high level of tolerance and a calm disposition to be able to deal with difficult and challenging young women.
good listening skills and ability to establish positive rapport with students
good administrative and organizational skills and ability to resolve administrative problems
handling workload and meeting timelines under pressure
good public dealing ability
ability to use computer and commonly use software like MS Office, internet etc.
ability to handle shift work and perform extra duties as and when required.
