Job Description

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Supervisor for Housekeeping Department.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to work towards adhering best practices to ensure a hygienic, safe and healthy work environment. Handle waste management and maintain a clean and sanitary hospital environment.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
supervising activities of housekeeping to ensure proper cleanliness standards
maintain constant awareness of the cleanliness, maintenance and appearance of the hospital
inspect and responsible for hygiene and sanitation of assigned area and ensure they meet standard
ensure that the housekeeping staff is working in accordance to the hospitals rules
make sure that all cleaning supplies are appropriately labeled
ensure shift management is handled properly and all safety procedures are being taken into account when mixing chemicals and detergents
maintenance of safety standards and infection control
arrange for materials used for cleaning from housekeeping store and coordinate project work and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities
arrange adequate staff coverage to all areas by distributing staff efficiently on daily basis
prepare daily supervisory inspection report and forward it to the senior supervisor
provide on the job training to the staff
report maintenance issues to Maintenance/Engineering Department
immediately reporting and documenting to management any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures.

Requirements:
Graduation.
3 to 5 years of related work experience at supervisory level
knowledge of hygiene and sanitary standards
ability to control, discipline and motivate staff
knowledge of Housekeeping work procedures and equipment
good interpersonal and communication skills
ability to work on own initiative etc.
ability to work under pressure and resolve problems
physically fit the role requires continuous movement in assigned area.
