Job Description

The incumbent will report to the Coordinator and will be responsible to proactively monitor, operate and supervise the various Electronic Surveillance / Safety and Security systems installed at Security Communication and Dispatch Centre (SCDC) and take appropriate follow up actions with respect to communication and dispatch of appropriate responses.

Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible to:
Ensure smooth/ uninterrupted operations of all electronics surveillance systems pertaining to Safety & Security installed through routine checking / testing of all electronics security equipment, logging timely complaint on the system and effectively following up with FMD teams.
Ensure that all AKU / Departmental policies and instruction are followed in true spirit in his area of responsibility.
Operate and proactively monitor the CCTV system and allied surveillance applications / devices installed and support the security operations on and off campus by sharing the information obtained thereof with the supervisory staff present on ground.
Perform first line trouble shooting and maintenance work of the equipment
Keep the Safety and Security management / security operations informed about any safety / security risk within / outside AKU detected through the CCTV or other electronic surveillance / monitoring Systems.
Train newly selected inductees in the operation and manning of electronic surveillance systems / equipment.
Operate all the communication equipment including the Radio Communication Base Station installed at SCDC and, maintain complete log of all important events in the Log Book, escalate to the next appropriate level, follow up and record closure.
Carryout the preliminary investigation off all security and safety incidents occurring in his area of responsibility.
Ensure effective shift handover / takeover and capture & deliver detailed record, transactions and incidents / occurrences during each shift.
Perform additional official tasks assigned by the Manager / Director as and when needed.

Requirements:
Intermediate / Graduate; Diploma in Electronics will be preferred
2-3 years related experience in handling and monitoring of Electronic surveillance / Audio Visual equipment.
Organized and focused individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Track record of mastering new tasks with little or no supervision.
Excellent organizational skills & discretion with confidential information.
Proficient in use of computer packages especially MS OFFICE.
