The Umeed-e-Nau (UeN) initiative of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Women and Child Health aims to support the introduction, scale-up and further piloting of high quality and high impact interventions to improve Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (MNCAH) in Pakistan by harnessing the potential of both public and private sectors, coupled with introduction of women and girls empowerment interventions. UeN has two major components; one is to introduce proven effective MNCAH interventions at scale in 8 districts and the second is to generate evidence through innovative approaches to improve MNCAH while included in the public health programme in Pakistan.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to provide active support in the research and grants administration. Specific responsibilities include to:
provide support in the management of grant checklists for external funding, preparation and follow-ups with relevant departments
assist the Principal Investigators in grant acquisitions which includes correspondence with the granting agencies and ensuring conformity to regulatory-related compliance of the agencies
assist in the management of ethical clearances database of research projects; preparation and follow-ups of Ethical Review Committee (ERC) approvals, applications and maintenance of records of the department
prepare memos, letters, certificates and other documentary assignments
provide support in getting approval from National Bioethics Committee (NBC), organize and maintain regulatory files of the assigned research projects of the department
carry out the budget realignment, cost and no-cost extension, sub-recipient monitoring of grants along with supervision of department research funds.
Requirements:
You should have:
at least a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Research Administration, Administrative Sciences or equivalent, preferably a Masters degree in the same
at least one year of related work experience while having knowledge of grants administration and financial management will be an added advantage
good interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills and some command on local languages
good computer skills, particularly proficiency in the use of MS Office
willingness to travel to field sites on need-basis.
