The Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi is proud to have qualified and dedicated Team of Surgeons, Medical, Nursing and Allied professionals within the Service Line Eye and ENT. Using state of the art equipment helps to identify, diagnose and treat Eye and ENT related problems. The department of Ophthalmology offers a variety of surgical treatment procedures like cataract surgery, corneal transplant surgery, glaucoma drainage surgery, mid face reconstruction and cosmetic surgery, squint surgery, retinal detachment surgery. Procedures like cochlear implants, reconstructive surgery post trauma or cancer head and neck surgery are unique to ENT. Based on these specialized procedures, patients are accommodated in the out-patient as well as the in-patient areas. Eye and ENT believes in innovation, exemplary care and access to services for all.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
exhibit excellent management in executing quality patient care
ensure that physician rounds for all patients are completed and the patients are reviewed and monitored for the treatment modalities and patient regimens are being accurately followed
meet regularly with patients and/or families to resolve complaints and issues relating to care and other concern
collaborate with all support service department to ensure quality care and meet requirements of patients in time
work with multidisciplinary teams on quality projects / circles to improve unit core processes
establish and ensure that unit-based standards, goals, objectives and priorities are prepared and monitor against the standards
encourage creativity, initiative and innovativeness in nursing staffs
mentor nursing workforce for provision of good services and staff development
coordinate with various stakeholders for provision of services and strive for continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
You should have:
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school, preferably a Masters degree in the same field, and a valid license from the Pakistan Nursing Council
at least four years of relevant experience, of which two years of experience should be at a nursing management level
Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Safe Medication Administration, Aseptic Techniques, I/V Cannulation, and Paediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)
excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines
willingness to work in shift duties (mornings, evenings and nights).
