Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Safety & Security, you will be responsible for Developing, reviewing and updating the EHS and Fire Prevention plans, policies and procedures in accordance with the intents of national and international rules and standards (e.g., KBCA Regulations and Standards of JCIA, NFPA, and OSHA).

You will be responsible to:
Supervise the work and performance of EHS and Fire Prevention section.
Advise on all matters of EHS and Fire-Safety by keeping abreast of recent developments in related practices and standards.
Manage and administer a well-trained EHS and Fire-Safety staff to prevent accidents and avoid property loss.
Ensure regular implementation of facility inspection and environmental rounds for hazard identification and control.
Carry out accident/incident investigation and assist in preparing incident analysis reports.
Coordinate Construction Safety issues and implementation of Construction Safety program in coordination with Design, Project and Construction.
Participate in Annual Risk Analysis and Hazard Vulnerability Assessment exercises.
Maintain close linkage with facilities Management with respect to fixed fire intimation and suppression systems.
Prepare safety awareness material including Safety Updates and Safety Posters.
Implement the Safety Coordinators Program.
Implement faculty/staff EHS and Fire-Safety Training, Drills and Awareness Assessment program through Safety Coordinators.
Liaise with City Fire Brigade, Civil Defence and other governmental and non-governmental agencies dealing with EHS and Life-Safety issues.
Participate in annual budget preparation process and ensure its regular monitoring.
Act as departmental CQI and JCIA Coordinator.

Requirements:
Candidate should be B.E., M.Sc. or B.Sc. (Preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering).
At least 12 to 14 years experience in a health care organization including 04 years in a supervisory role.
Lead auditor ISO 9001, OSHAS 18001.
Preferably NEBOSH General Certification.
Ability to develop safety guidelines and policies.
Good understanding and knowledge of local and international safety standards.
Safety Training/First Aid /CPR courses.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Proficient in use of computer packages, especially MS Office.
Ability to work well in/with multidisciplinary teams.
