HEAD OF ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
PURPOSE:
The Head of Accident & Emergency will play a vibrant role in the overall operations of the Emergency Department. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the department which include exercising measures to deliver excellent First Aid services to the patients and establishing clinical protocols to ensure improvement in outcomes of care and service delivery within the allocated resources. He should train emergency staff to provide high-quality patient care in routine as well as in mass disaster.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
The incumbent should be FCPS or equivalent qualification in General Medicine / General Surgery with one year Post Fellowship Training in the specialty of Accident & Emergency with 10 years of relevant experience. An incumbent who has served as Head of Accident & Emergency Department in a well-reputed tertiary care hospital will be given preference. All life support courses certifications like APLS, ACLS & ATLS are mandator/ and PALS is preferable.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, leadership skills, negotiation & conflict management skills, good analytical and decision-making skills are essential to perform this role.
