Job Description

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director, Safety & Security, the Assistant Manager Security Investigations will manage the Investigation Unit of the Department. The incumbent will plan, coordinate, supervise and document the Safety and Security investigations in respect of the AKU Campuses all over Pakistan. Assist Director Safey & Security in organizing a Risk Assessment effort and an Information Collection effort which directly effects the working of AKU.
The position will be specifically responsible for the following:
maintain liaison with the local police and city government for the registration of fir, police registration of expatriates / repatriates and information on crime / law and order situation in the city and for obtaining NOCs etc.
manage the investigation unit to ensure proper implementation of policies & procedures / orders of department on a day-to-day basis.
supervise and coordinate the investigation effort of the department through the duty security officers and supervisors.

maintain the records of the incident reports, investigation reports / summaries on monthly/quarterly basis and prepare crime trends for safety committee and security committee on a quarterly and yearly basis.
act as legal aid to director safety and security and assist security staff in registration of fir with police.
process/maintain records of all legal cases and render advice to medical and security staff on all medico legal cases.
analyze, identify, and update the safety and security threats against AKU by coordinating on an annual basis. also develop and update action plan to investigate the risks in collaboration with the user departments on six monthly basis.
liaison with BOI, MOI and local passport / immigration and police special branch to expedite the work permits / work visas and police registration for expatriate / repatriates.
liaison with police special branch for verifications, NOCs, police inquires and bomb disposal / stamping of card, efforts during mega events / functions.
organize collection and dissemination of information mechanism regarding law-and-order situation related areas for senior management and departments handing field trips of students / faculty. also issue security alerts on impending strikes and disturbance in the city as a security awareness program.
organize and monitor the customer complaint effort of the department and issue summaries of written / verbal complaints to the clinical affairs.
act as safety coordinator for the department and perform HIRA activity as prescribed by AKU safety committee.
maintain the customer surveys and customer complaint records.
act as custodian of AKU eyes and ears program and coordinate efforts required to catch culprits with manager security operations.
to perform acting duties of manager security operations in his absence and act on his behalf.
any other task assigned by the director safety & security.

Requirements:
BA/ BSC/ Law Graduate from any University / Masters in Criminology will be preferred.
Trained in military academy with specialization in investigation techniques.
Minimum 15 years of military experience.
Minimum 4-5 of relevant experience in a similar capacity preferably in a large security organization/ corporate sector.
Thorough knowledge of protection of life and property in terms of safety and security.
Excellent leadership and presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills; have acumen for interviews and investigations and report writing.
A motivated team player; able to lead team by example.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Proficiency in English language; knowledge other regional/ local languages will be an additional advantage.
Proficiency in computer skills
