A front desk is the reception or customer service area of an organization, typically the first point of contact for visitors, clients, or customers. It is usually found in hotels, offices, hospitals, and other businesses.
Responsibilities:
Greeting and Assisting Guests - Welcoming visitors, clients, or customers and directing them as needed.
Handling Inquiries - Answering phone calls, emails, and in-person questions about the business.
Managing Appointments & Check-ins - Scheduling meetings, handling reservations, and processing guest check-ins/check-outs (especially in hotels).
Administrative Tasks - Managing paperwork, maintaining records, and processing payments if necessary.
Security & Access Control - Monitoring visitor entry, issuing passes, and ensuring security protocols are followed.
Skills Required:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Professional appearance and demeanor
Knowledge of office software and reservation systems (for hotels or businesses)
